Esashi-Fujiwara Heritage Park

Experience the history and romance of the Heian Period

This vast theme park allows visitors to experience the history and culture of Michinoku while tracing the history of the Oshu Fujiwara Clan.

There are about 120 buildings of various sizes, offering a glimpse into the lifestyle and politics of the time. The attraction of the park is its authentic reproductions based on rigorous period research.

It is also known as a location for NHK’s historical drama “Taiga Drama.

Dress in Heian-period costumes and armor, and step into the historical setting. It is like stepping back in time.

The Kyara Gosho, with the main house, the Shinden (sleeping quarters), and the East, West, and North rooms connected by corridors, and the Seicho, where politics and important ceremonies were held, are powerful architectural structures in the park that recreate the rise and fall of the Oshu Fujiwara clan and the culture of the Heian period.

Entertainment and Local Performing Arts

The park has been used as a filming location for historical dramas, TV programs, and movies, providing a rich source of entertainment. In addition, visitors can enjoy regular performances of “Esashi Shika Odori,” a local performing art.

At the Esashi Local Culture Museum, local culture is introduced, and visitors can enjoy soba noodle making, saki weaving, making Heian-period Japanese ornamental balls, archery, and shell matching.

Easashi Fujiwara no Sato has been used as a filming location for historical dramas and movies, and you will feel as if you are in the middle of a movie.

The detailed recreation of the area is fascinating and puts you in the historical setting.
